Coimbatore: In Coimbatore district, the permission given to those suffering from corona infection without any symptoms to be treated at home has been suspended.

The incidence of coronavirus is increasing day by day in Coimbatore district. More than 30,000 people have been affected by corona in Coimbatore district.

For the past one month, people with asymptomatic coronavirus infections have been given permission on behalf of the district administration to be treated at home, if they have the facility to isolate themselves.

Thus the relatives of those receiving treatment at home were also advised not to leave the house. However, it has been reported to the district administration and the health department that those treated in such isolated homes and their relatives are leaving homes and not maintaining quarantine strictly.

Following this, permission to isolate and treat at homes in Coimbatore has been suspended.

Speaking about this District Collector Rajamani said, "In Coimbatore district so far 961 people have been given permission to seek treatment at home. Of these, more than 700 are from the Corporation area. It is understood that some of them seem to be violating government instructions and not quarantining themselves.

More than 7,000 beds and other facilities have been set up in Coimbatore to treat people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection without symptoms. Family members of those diagnosed with corona infection have been advised not to leave the house for up to 14 days. Coronavirus home treatment has been temporarily suspended because those receiving treatment are violating the rules and risking spreading the disease to others."
