Coimbatore: Cash and jewellery stolen from neighbouring houses near Pollachi.
Coimbatore: Rs. 6500 in cash and 3-1/2 sovereigns of gold were stolen from neighbouring houses at Pethanaickenpalayam near Pollachi.
Tailor Suresh (35) at School Street at Pethanaickenpalayam along with his wife Saranya (30). Mayilathal (60), a daily wage labourer, lives at the neighbouring house.
Day before yesterday, Suresh and Saranya were out of home as they went to a nearby Temple while the neighbour Mayilathal was out for work.
When the neighbours returned, they found their houses were broken into. While 3 sovereigns of gold jewellery was missing from the couple's home, Mayilathal found that half a sovereign of gold and Rs. 6500 was missing from her home.
They lodged a complaint at Kottur Station who have registered a case and are investigating the thefts.
