Chennai: The novel coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc in Tamil Nadu, with over 5.5 lakh cases reported. Recently, several political figures including MPs and MLAs have been tested positive for the virus.

On Wedensday, RS Bharathi, Member of Rajya Sabha, representing Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), was reported to have contracted COVID.

According to reports, the 73-year-old Organising Secretary of DMK has been admitted in a private hospital near Adambakkam, Chennai.
