Former Member of the Gobichettipalayam Assembly constituency of Erode district GP Venkidu (85) died today at a private hospital in Coimbatore due to coronavirus infection. He contested for the DMK and was a member of the Gobichettipalayam Assembly from 1996 to 2001.
GP Venkidu, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Coimbatore for COVID-19 disease succumbed to the dreaded virus today.
His demise has caused great grief among the party members and his family.
