Coimbatore couple attacked for chiding drunken man pelting stones at dog

Coimbatore: A couple was attacked in Coimbatore by a man who they chided for pelting stones at a dog. Police are investigating the matter.


Coimbatore: A couple was attacked in Coimbatore by a man who they chided for pelting stones at a dog. Police are investigating the matter.

Isha (50) and Umar Bhai (51) are a couple hailing from Ukkadam in Coimbatore. They have been living in the Gray Town area for the past 10 months. While returning from a wedding, they saw Moideen (a) Maatu Moideen who was drunk was pelting stones at a dog on the street.

The couple chided him and tried stopping him from agonizing the dog. An enraged which Moideen attacked them. Umar suffered injuries to his chest and back. He was rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment. Umar's wife Isha registered a complaint at the Race Course police station following which an investigation is on.
