This being the case, a gaur suddenly strayed into the Aruvankadu Cordite Factory area on the Ooty-Coonoor National Highway today.

The gaur wandered near the shade of a bus stop nearby causing the people waiting there to run away in fear.

Without disturbing the public, the animal tried to enter the nearby Cordite Factory, The staff there closed the main gate which led the gaur back to the road.

Unaware of the danger, some two-wheeler riders rode near the animal and overtook it. Drivers of tourist vehicles drove them in reverse in fear of an attack as the gaur went towards the vehicles.

It walked down the road that is studded with houses on both sides and went back into the nearby woods. This caused a stir in the area for some time.
