Coimbatore: Karunakaran (42) is from Selvapuram area of Coimbatore and he is working as an employee in a private company.
Coimbatore: Karunakaran (42) is from Selvapuram area of Coimbatore and he is working as an employee in a private company. Last evening, while he was riding his motorcycle on Telungupalayam Road, three youths who were following him on a motorcycle snatched Karunakaran's cell phone and tried to escape.
A shocked Karunakaran raised his voice hearing which the public nearby tried to catch the culprits, but managed to catch only one of the three on the bike. The person riding the bike was caught while the pillion riders managed to slip away.
The police registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Karunakaran at the Selvapuram police station. It was revealed that the caught person is Karthik (23) from Ukkadam Pullukadu area who works as a temporary sanitary worker for the Coimbatore Corporation.
Upon interrogating Karthik, POlice confirmed the identities of the ones who escaped as his friends Sanjay (17) and Sunfar. All the three have been arrested and a case has been registered.
