The Cherambadi Forest Department received information that a 4-year-old female leopard was found dead inside a tea plantation in Cherambadi Range No. 1 near Panthalur. Gudalur Forest Officer Sumesh Soman, Assistant Forest Ranger Vijayan and Cherambadi Forest Ranger Chinnathambi inspected the site.
Veterinarians Bharat Jyoti and Balaji conducted an autopsy. The forest department said the cause of death will be known after the autopsy results.
