The Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and other ministers paid their respects and garlanded the statue of Periyar.
The DMK President M.K. Stalin and other senior leaders of the party paid floral tribute and garlanded the statue of Periyar.
In continuation of this, former DMK MLA Pongalur Palanisamy and the party cadres led by him garlanded the statue of Periyar at Gandhipuram and paid their tribute.
Following this the members of the Samooga Neethi Katchi and Periyarists garlanded the statue of Periyar. The Theendamai Olippu Munnani cadres garlanded the statue of Periyar, following which they raised slogans against the NEP and took oaths.
