Coimbatore: A young woman who has a 4-month-old infant petitioned the Coimbatore District Collector requesting help to retrieve her school documents from a private college where she had enrolled for studies.

Vidhya is a resident of the Gandhimanagar area. She had enrolled into the Christhunadar Polytechnic College, directly into the second year and after one year of study she discontinued her education due to financial difficulties.

She is married and has two children. The elder girl is in class one and her husband Naveen is a painter. Due to lack of sufficient income, Vidya decided to take up a job to contribute to the family. However, when she requested the college administration for her documents they asked her to make a payment of Rs.11,000 for the third year semester exams. The college dean also informed her that only after the payment is made she would be provided her documents.

Due to this, Vidya petitioned the District Collector saying, "With two children of which the second child is only four months old, the family is suffering from lack of income. Companies that I approach for jobs request for my educational documents to be furnished. Hence the District Collector must intervene and take action to retrieve the documents from the administration of the private college."
