The protest took place in front of the corporation office and was attended by a number of organisations including the SDPI, Popular Front of India and pro-Dravidian organisations. They condemned BJP for going ahead with NEET exam and the continued indifference towards Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery River issue.
They also demanded to put an end to intimidation of the Tamil media and its journalists. They also condemned supporting projects such as Sterlite to aid the corporates.
