The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris on Friday reported a spike of 90 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of infections past 2,200. The overall case tally stood at 2,218 today.

With a related fatality today, the district death toll rose to 15.

The details of today's toll are:

A 67 Years old Male from Nilgiris having COVID-19 RTPCR Positivity on 09.09.2020 with COPD / CAD / DM admitted on 08.09.2020 at 06.55 PM in a private hospital, Coimbatore with Complaints of Fever for 2 days Difficulty in Breathing died on 10.09.2020 at 06.40 PM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia.

The number of active cases stood at 477 today.

In some positive news, the district discharged 64 recovered patients today, taking the tally of recoveries to 1,725.
