Tirupur: Tirupur on Mondary reported a whopping spike of 194 new COVID-19 cases and 2 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 3,653 and death toll to 82.

The number of active cases stood at 1,223 today.

The details of the fatalities today are:

A 52 years old Male from Tirupur having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 01.09.2020 with DM admitted on 01.09.2020 at 02.10 PM in Tirupur Medical College Hospital with complaints of Fever,Cough for 7days, died on 07.09.2020 at 07.30 AM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia.

A 37 years old Male from Tiruppur with Thyroid Disorder admitted on 28.08.2020 at 01.30 PM in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Outcome of COVID test positive result on 29.08.2020. The patient died on 05.09.2020 at 08.00 PM due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome / Respiratory Failure / Bilateral Bronchopneumonia.

In some positive news, the district 48 recoveries today, taking the tally of discharges to 2,348.
