Corporation Commissioner inspects sanitation work undertaken at the North Zone

Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian inspected the sanitation work undertaken in the containment zones of the Coimbatore Corporation in the North Zone.

He advised the people of the area to wear face masks and to maintain social distancing. Further headvised them to get themselves tested at the special screening medical camps being conducted in the area.

With the spread of COVID-19 snowballing, various measures arebeing undertaken by the Coimbatore Corporation to control the spread of the disease. On those lines, Corporation Commissioner P. Kumaravel Pandian visited Anna Nagar within the North Zone of the Corporation and viewed the spraying of disinfectants in the isolation areas.

He also reviewed the sanitation measures undertaken in these areas and instructed the sanitary workers to spray disinfectants twice a day, in the morning and evening. He then informed the concerned authorities to ensure the availability of essential items to the people in the containment areas.

The Commissioner then instructed the people in the containment areas to not step outdoors, clean their house twice a day using disinfectants, maintain social distancing, wear face masks, test everyone in their households for COVID-19, take the tablets given for boosting immunity and consume Kabasura kudineer.



Following this, the Commissioner visited the Special medical camp conducted in the Ranganathan Street on Sakthi Road and informed the public at the camp to maintain social distancing and to wear face masks.



Following this he visited the house that collapsed at the K.C. Thottam area in Chetti Veedhi. He enquired about the people who had lost their lives in the incident. He then instructed the concerned authorities to complete the rescue operations rapidly.

Zonal Deputy Commissioners Senthil KumarRathinam (North), Ravi (South), Zonal Health Officers Loganathan, Ramachandran, Assistant Engineers and Corporation officials were present.
