Train service is all set to resume from Coimbatore beginning tomorrow. Meanwhile, a special train for for candidates appearing for National Defence and Naval Academy exams and their relatives was operated yesterday. The train was operated with 16 coaches.
The train was boarded by nine passengers who were permitted into the station after they were scanned with a thermal scanner that was connected to a camera at the tailway station.
Meanwhile, a special train from Chennai to Coimbatore will be operated tonight at 9 PM.
A Southern Railway official said, "Nine people including the applicants for the exams and their parents travelled from Coimbatore to Chennai. They were checked for fever. They were also monitored to see if they wore face masks and followed social distancing."
