More routes from Coimbatore by 'Air India' and 'Indigo' thrill passengers

Coimbatore: New flight service announcements out of Coimbatore International Airport by 'Air India' and 'Indigo' Airlines have made passengers happy. Post the recent lockdown relaxations, the number of flights are on the up at Coimbatore International Airport.








Coimbatore: New flight service announcements out of Coimbatore International Airport by 'Air India' and 'Indigo' Airlines have made passengers happy. Post the recent lockdown relaxations, the number of flights are on the up at Coimbatore International Airport.

While previously only five flights were operated at the airport, the number has now soared to 12 per day. States such as Karnataka and Maharashtra, which did not permit operation of flights earlier, gave a go-ahead just recently. As a result of this, flight services between Coimbatore and Bengaluru have already commenced.

In the wake of this, 'Air India' and 'Indigo' have made official announcements about new flight services now. Air India has announced direct service between Coimbatore and Mumbai from September 7. Airbus 'A-320 Neo', 162-seater aircraft will be used for this service. The flight will leave Mumbai at 10:55 a.m. and reach Coimbatore at 12:40 p.m.

In its return leg, the aircraft will leave Coimbatore at 1:30 p.m. and will land at Mumbai around 3:20 p.m. Coimbatore-Mumbai is one of the first services cities which was launched initially in Coimbatore about 30 years back and continues to remain a route that receives good support from passengers. The brand new A-320 Neo has 12 business class and 150 economy seats. Mumbai is a busy International Airport from where passengers can travel seamlessly to many cities around the world.

Indigo Airlines has also announced its new flights in Chennai-Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad-Coimbatore and Coimbatore-Chennai legs. The services are set to commence on September 9. Per the official schedule, the flight will leave Chennai at 6:30 a.m. and arrive Ahmedabad at 8:45 a.m. and again the flight will leave Ahmedabad at 9:30 a.m. and will reach Coimbatore at 12:00 p.m. The flight will leave Coimbatore at 12:50 p.m. and reach Chennai at 1:55 p.m. The services will be provided on all days and Airbus type of aircraft would be used for this service.

Announcement of these new services has thrilled the passengers. With various relaxations made each day, more flight services are anticipated to be started at Coimbatore International Airport in the days to come.
