The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris on Saturday reported a spike of 47 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death, taking the total number of infections to 1,857 and death toll to 14.

The number of active cases stood at 366 today.

The details of the death today are:

A 70 years old Male from Nilgiris with Coronary Artery Heart Disease admitted on 02.09.2020 at 10.45 PM in Coimbatore Medical College & ESI Hospital, Coimbatore. Outcome of COVID test positive result on 02.09.2020. The patient died on 03.09.2020 at 07.40 PM due to COVID Pneumonia / Acute Myocardial Infarction / Cardiogenic Shock / Coronary Artery Heart Disease.

In some positive news, the district discharged 52 recovered patients today, taking the tally of recoveries to 1,477.
