Tirupur: Tirupur on Tuesday reported a spike of 87 new COVID-19 cases and 3 related fatalities, taking the total number of infections to 2,904 and death toll to 68.

The number of active cases stood at 894 today.

A 71 Years old Male from Tirupur having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 24.08.2020 with DM / SHTN / CKD / CAD-S/p PTCA, admitted on

24.08.2020 at 02.37PM in a private hospital, Coimbatore with complaints of Cough for 20 days Difficulty in Breathing for 7 days, died on 01.09.2020 at 02.59 AM due to COVID

A 60 Years old Male from Tiruppur having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 26.08.2020 with Type 2 DM admitted on 23.08.2020 at 11.55 PM at Govt Headquarters Hospital Tirupur with complaints of fever for 3 days and cough for 1 day, died on 01.09.2020 at 7.00 AM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia.

A 60 Years old Male from Tiruppur having COVID 19 RTPCR Positivity on 26.08.2020 with Type 2 DM admitted on 23.08.2020 at 11.55 PM at Govt Headquarters Hospital Tirupur with complaints of fever for 3 days and cough for 1 day, died on 01.09.2020 at 7.00 AM due to COVID-19 Pneumonia.

In some positive news, the district discharged 58 recovered patients today, taking the tally of recoveries to 1,941.
