Coimbatore: Distressed over delay in marriage, a 28-year-old private bank employee from Coimbatore allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Vellalore, here, on Wednesday.

Coimbatore: Distressed over delay in marriage, a 28-year-old private bank employee from Coimbatore allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Vellalore, here, on Wednesday.

Sarathkumar (28), an employee of a private bank in Chennai along with his parents, Sureshkumar and Shanthi was residing at LG Nagar area in Vellalore, here.

According to police reports, Sarath's parents have been looking for a bride for him, for some time now. As they could not find a suitable alliance, Sarath Kumar was allegedly in a depressed state.

On Wednesday morning, as his room door remained closed for a long while, his parents fell dubious. When they forced open the room, they found Sarath hanging from the ceiling.

Based on his mother's complaint, the Podanur Police arrived at the scene and retrieved the corpse and sent it for autopsy. Investigations are on.
