Vehicles ready for door to door screening of COVID-19 in Pollachi

Coimbatore: Mobile screening vehicles have been readied to conduct door to door testing for COVID -19 in Pollachi. More than 300 tests can be conducted each day, informed the Pollachi Sub Collector.

Coimbatore: Mobile screening vehicles have been readied to conduct door to door testing for COVID -19 in Pollachi. More than 300 tests can be conducted each day, informed the Pollachi Sub Collector.

The spread of COVID-19 has been increasing rapidly in Pollachi and disease prevention measures are being undertaken by the Revenue and Health departments. As part of these measures, door to door screening of COVID-19 is being arranged.



When information is received by the Control room at the Sub- Collector's office in Pollachi, vehicles, both two and four wheelers that have been arranged exclusively for the use of the medical teams, can be used to reach the person's house and testing for COVID-19 can be conducted door to door.

Speaking regarding this, the Pollachi Sub- Collector said, "More than 300 tests are being carried out in Pollachi. Additionally, government employees are being tested at the office of the Pollachi Sub-Collector, every Sunday. Though the government has announced various relaxations in the lockdown, the public will have to be careful. Social distancing must be maintained. If anyone exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 then the Control room at the Sub-Collector's office must be contacted at 04259 - 224855 and information must be provided."
