Coimbatore: 17 people including a jewellery shop owner and a Sub- Inspector of police tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two days, informed the Health department.

Coimbatore: 17 people including a jewellery shop owner and a Sub- Inspector of police tested positive for COVID-19 in the last two days, informed the Health department.

The Health department has informed that eight people have tested positive for COVID-19 today and they belong to the Pollachi North and South City and the Anaimalai area. The list of COVID-19 patients include a 70 year old man from Mahalakshmi Nagar, a 38 year old woman from Marapatti street, a 59 year old male, a 48 year old woman and a 71 year old man from Venkatachalam Pillai Colony, a 44 year old male from Ayyampalayam, a 56 year old female from Anna Nagar, Anaimalai and a 75 year old man from Thensangampalayam.

Similarly, nine people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pollach and Anaimalai, yesterday. This includes a 64 year old jewellery shop owner from Pollachi Bazaar street and a 37 year oldmale from Kesavapuram, Chinnampalayam.

Further a special sub-inspector who works at the Meenakshipuram checkpost and his son tested positive for COVID-19.

The areas and surroundings from where people tested positive for COVID-19 have beenbrought under the control of the health department and special screening camps are conducted.
