16-year-old boy arrested under POCSO Act for harassing an 8-year-old girl
Coimbatore: A 16-year-old boy who sexually harassed an 8-year-old girl in Coimbatore has been arrested under the POCSO Act and admitted him at the juvenile school.
An 8-year-old girl studying 4th grade is the daughter of a daily-wage labourer living in the Cheran MaNagar area. She went to the forest to graze her sheep when the 16-year-old boy from the same area came there at the time, intimidated her and sexually harassed the girl.
The girl informed her parents about it and the shocked parents lodged a complaint against the 16-year-old boy at the Peelamedu police station. Based on the complaint, Peelamedu police arrested the boy under the POCSO Act and admitted him to a juvenile school.
