Public urge to intensify patrol in Sakthi Nagar Bridge due to miscreants: Drunkards break bottles of alcohol on road



Coimbatore: With over 600 houses, residents of Sakthi Nagar in Periyanaickenpalayam  here have urged the police to intensify night patrolling in their area, as the under bridge there has become home to drunkards. 

Used liquor bottles, banned tobacco products, water packets, food remains, cigarettes have been recklessly littered all through the place, the residents complain. The residents fear, if the place could become a hub for illegal  activities.

As the road is deserted for a few metres, anti-social use it as an open bar and drink. They sometimes even break empty bottles on the road before leaving. They are also seen drinking sitting by the railway track. Also several thefts have also been reported in the area. There are more than 600 houses in Sakthi nagar, KR Nagar, Ilango Nagar.



Public have requested the Periyanaickenpalayam police to intensify patrols at night and take action against the culprits.
