Congress MP Vasanthakumar dies of Covid in Chennai

Chennai: Congress MP from Kanyakumari and renowned businessman H Vasanthakumar (70) who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for COVID-19 passed away, this evening.

Chennai: Congress MP from Kanyakumari and renowned businessman H Vasanthakumar (70) who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for COVID-19 passed away, this evening.

Founder of Tamil Nadu's renowned appliances retail chain Vasanth & Co, he was treated at Chennai’s Apollo Hospital for Covid-19. His health continued to be critical and he succumbed, today.

The two-time MLA, Vasanthakumar was admitted to the hospital on August 10 after developing symptoms of COVID-19. He was treated in the critical care unit by a team of doctors for severe COVID pneumonia under ventilator and ECMO.
