Public lay siege to Madukkarai ACC factory; allege of air pollution affecting their health

Coimbatore: Public residing in the areas near the ACC factory in Madukarai laid siege to the factory complaining that dust from the factory has been causing problems to them. The management assured to take appropriate action following which the protest was revoked.











Coimbatore: Public residing in the areas near the ACC factory in Madukarai laid siege to the factory complaining that dust from the factory has been causing problems to them. The management assured to take appropriate action following which the protest was revoked.



ACC factory has been functioning in the Madukkarai area. The public residing in the nearby areas have complained that the dust from the cement factory has been causing problems to the public. More than 50 women gathered together yesterday and laid siege to the office of the cement factory. Further they got into arguments with the employees causing a stir.

Following this, people in the area laid siege to the cement factory again today and staged a protest.



Following this, the management conducted an inspection of the affected areas and found dust settled on the walls of houses and on home appliances .

They then spoke to the protesting residents and promised that appropriate remedial action would be taken in a month. Following this, the protestors gave up the protest.
