Tirupur: The death statement of a Tirupur workshop owner that was recorded on his cellphone and sent to his relatives has gone viral on social media. Following this, he hung to death.

Ravi (44) was a resident of the G.N. Balan Nagar near Bommanaickenpalayam, Tirupur district. He has a wife Kanagavalli (35), daughter (16) and son (15).

Ravi owned an auto workshop near the Tirupur new bus stand. On August 3, his wife and daughter went missing and he filed a complaint at the Anupparpalayam Police station. The police registered a case and began investigation.

Investigations revealed that they were lodged at a women's hostel at Periyar Nagar, Erode. Following this, they brought the two women to the Anupparpalayam Police station for investigation. Kanakavalli refused to go back home to her husband and also said that she would go to her mother's house. However, she did not go to her mother's house and instead had gone back to the hostel.

On coming to know about this, Ravi went there on August 24, and pleaded with them to return. However they refused to come back with him and allegedly spoke to him in a bad manner. Due to this, Ravi was mentally stressed and returned home. When he was alone at home, in a depressed state, he locked the door and hung himself to death.

Prior to this, he recorded his death statement on his cellphone and sent the video to his friends and relatives. The relatives who viewed this video panicked and rushed to help Ravi. They knocked on the door and since it was not opened for a long time, they became suspicious and looked through the windows to see Ravi hanging.

They retrieved him and took him to the Tirupur Government hospital for treatment. However, the doctor declared him dead on arrival.

The Anupparpalayam police have registered a case and are investigating. Meanwhile the video recording of Ravi's death statement and the audio of Ravi's wife speaking derogatorily to him are doing the rounds on social media.

In his statement Ravi said, "I don't want to live and see them being spoiled. I have decided to die before that, this is my death statement. I have a request to the Anupparpalayam police who have helped me. Please bring back my wife and child away from those four people. Give them good advice and bring them back to Tirupur and hand them over to my mother."

The police are conducting an intensive investigation regarding the incident, using the death statement of Ravi. They are also investigating four persons from Surampatti, Erode, who are allegedly the reason for Ravi's death.
