Coimbatore: The Ramanathapuram police have filed a case on a couple for swindling Rs.18 lakhs from an acquaintance. Investigations are on.

Vairamuthu Karthik from Damu Nagar has been employed at a private company in the area for the past two years. Through the owner of the private company, he became acquainted to Senthil Kumar and his wife Nithya from the Sundarapuram area.

The couple showed the order for the sourcing of computer spare parts and requested Vairamuthu Karthik to invest in their computer installation and training institute.

In 2019, Vairamuthu made a transaction of Rs.18 lakhs through ICICI bank and gave it as his investment to the business of Senthil and Vidhya.

However, even after a long time, the couple did not seem to purchase any spare parts and delayed it. Becoming suspicious of them, Vairamuthu Karthik asked them to return his money. The couple, however, refused to give back the money. Following this, Vairamuthu Karthik filed a complaint at the Ramanathapuram police station.

Based on the complaint, a case has been filed by the police against the couple for swindling Rs.18 lakhs from Vairamuthu Karthik. Investigations are on.
