COVID-19: At 6,721, recoveries derail 5,951 new cases

Coimbatore: The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Tamil Nadu remained under the 6,000 mark for the fifth day on Monday with 5,951 people testing positive for the infection. There has been a gradual and marginal decline in the number of cases over the last week. On Monday, 5,967 people had tested positive.

The number of deaths went back above 100 as the State registered 107 fatalities over the last 24 hours. This has brought the death toll in the State to 6,721 according to the State bulletin.

With 322 new cases today, Coimbatore continues to record 300 plus cases for days now while The Nilgiris and Tirupur logged 79 and 44 cases respectively.

Tamil Nadu has 52,128 active cases as of today.

At 6,721, the number of recoveries trumped fresh cases taking the total count of recoveries in the state to 3,32,454 .
