Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspects sanitary and developmental work carried out in isolation zones

Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner inspected cleaning and developmental work carried out in isolated areas and insisted on wearing masks and getting tested in camps in case of any symptoms.

Coimbatore Corporation is involved in various preventive measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the city.



As part of it, Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer J. Shravan Kumar inspected the isolated areas of Poonthottam Street, Indira Road and Vinayagar Kovil Street in the North Zone under the Corporation of Coimbatore. He directed the sanitary staff to spray disinfectants both in the mornings and evenings. He urged the officials in charge of the isolated areas to ensure that essentials are provided to the public there.



Later, the commissioner advised the people in the area to wear face masks, adhere to social distancing norms and to get immediate medical check-up for symptoms such as cold and cough and take vitamin pills to boost their immunity.



Following this he met the roadside vendors at the Ganapathy Arulmigu Kottai Pillayar Koil area and made them aware of COVID-19, instructed them to wear masks, adhere to social distancing and asked them to register themselves at the special camps for bank loans processed as part of the COVID-19 relief.



Later, he visited and inspected the Covid Care Center to be operated at the private marriage hall in the Saravanampatti area under the North Zone. He then enquired about the health, accommodation, toilet, electricity, and treatment facilities provided to the patients and availability of beds in the dormitories for the patients.

Senthil Kumar Rathinam - Assistant Commissioner, North Zone, Ramachandran - the Zonal Health Officer, Nassar - Assistant Engineer and other Corporation officials were present during the inspection.
