Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government has banned installation of Vinayagar idols and procession in public places on Ganesh Chathurthi due to increasing cases of COVID-19. Hence Hindus in and around Pollachi installed and worshiped small clay Ganesha idols at their own homes.



Children and adults alike celebrated the festival with fervour at their homes by offering kolukkattai and lighting lamps.
