The Adi Thamizhar Peravai President Adhiyaman and the DMK Coimbatore City East District Incharge N. Karthik MLA took part in the memorial day and paid floral tribute and placed flower wreaths to the photograph of the late freedom fighter.
Following this Adhiyaman requested, "The Memorial day of Ondiveeran is being observed at many places. The freedom fighter fought against the Britishers. The foundation for his Manimandapam was laid during the rule of the DMK and now a memorial stands in the place. The memorial day of Ondiveeran must be celebrated as a government event and the Central government must release a stamp in his honour".
