Coimbatore: Two youths from Sri Lankan refugee camp killed in road accident near Pollachi.
Two youngsters from a Sri Lankan refugee camp were killed when the two-wheeler they were riding on collided with a roadside barrier near Aliyar, Pollachi, causing great grief among the people of the area.
Vasantha Kumar (18) and Ajith Kumar (21) from the Kottur Sri Lankan Refugee Camp Allen, (21) from Azhiyar Sri Lanka Refugee Camp, were returning home last night in a two-wheeler from a shop near the Aliyar Arivu Thirukoil.
The two-wheeler lost control and collided with a roadside barrier at a bend near Anbu Nagar. The injured were rushed to the Pollachi Government Hospital.
Vasantha Kumar and Allen Camp died without responding to treatment. Ajith Kumar is under treatment.
Aliyar police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
