Coimbatore: TASMAC workers staged a series of protests in Coimbatore on behalf of the All Trade Union and raised slogans demanding fulfillment of 14-point request.

Coimbatore: TASMAC workers staged a series of protests in Coimbatore on behalf of the All Trade Union and raised slogans demanding fulfillment of 14-point request.



They raised slogans emphasizing the 14-point demands in front of liquor stores in various parts of Coimbatore.

The protest was held in Coimbatore RS puram area led by State Assistant Secretary of PMK Trade Union Ramasundaram. They demanded a reduction in workload and Rs 50 lakh compensation for TASMAC employees who lost their lives due to corona infection/ They also demanded that employees working during the Corona period should be paid an additional salary of Rs 10,000, jobs for their heirs, and COVID-19 tests to be done twice a month for employees. They demanded that authorities from other districts who conduct illegal inspections should be banned from doing so and bars should reduce working hours to 5 p.m. They engaged in a series of slogan struggles emphasizing the 14-point demands.

They said they have repeatedly protested and petitioned for these demands, but the TASMAC management and the Tamil Nadu government have so far failed to take appropriate action and they said they will continue to fight until August 21t. They demanded that the government immediately fulfill their demands in the interest of TASMAC workers.
