Health Inspector succumbs to COVID-19 in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: A Coimbatore Health Inspector who turned COVID-19 positive succumbed to the dreaded virus at the Coimbatore ESI Hospital.

Coimbatore: A Coimbatore Health Inspector who turned COVID-19 positive succumbed to the dreaded virus at the Coimbatore ESI Hospital.

The spread of COVID-19 in Coimbatore has been trending up and the death of people affected by the illness has continued to cause panic amid the public.

This has been particularly true of the COVID-19 frontline workers who are out in the fields in the midst of the pandemic due to their call of duty. Health department workers, Corporation sanitation workers, police department personnel, doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers are all braving the pandemic for their duty.

The 56-year-old Health Inspector Kumar from Coimbatore was down with COVID-19 and was admitted at the ESI Hospital for treatment. His condition continued to deteriorate and he succumbed to the illness today. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

His death has caused grief among his colleagues, family, relatives and friends.
