Earlier District Collector Innocent Divya hoisted the national flag at Ooty and paid respects on the 74th Independence Day.
Participants included municipality's sanitary workers, and officials from revenue, medical, and the fire departments. It is noteworthy that the customary police parade and tribal dances were not held this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
