Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner inspects sanitation work undertaken at various zones

Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar inspected the sanitation work undertaken at the containment areas in Vilankurichi and Kalapatti in the East Zone.

He further reviewed various developmental activities undertaken by the Corporation. With the spread of COVID-19 increasing day by day, the Corporation Administration has been undertaking various measures in full swing to prevent the spread of the disease.



Corporation Commissioner inspected the containment areas at Vilankurichi and Kalapatti in the East zone of the Coimbatore Corporation, today (August 13). He inspected the sanitation work undertaken in these areas and advised the sanitary workers to spray disinfectants twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. He also instructed the concerned authorities to facilitate the availability of essential items for the public in these areas.

He then went on to instruct the public in the area to compulsorily wear face masks and maintain social distancing. Those with cold, fever and cough were instructed to get themselves checked. People above 50 years of age were asked to get themselves tested for diabetes and high blood pressure, informed the Corporation Commissioner.

He also inspected laying of road and the TWAD work undertaken in the area.



Further he inspected the dredging work undertaken at the ponds in Kalapattiarea.



The Corporation Commissioner then inspected the functioning of the Robotic 2.0 machine at Anbu Nagar, Ukkadam, which was used to clear underground sewerage and human waste. He ordered the concerned authorities to complete the pending tasks in the area.

The East Zone Deputy Commissioner Murugan, South Zone Deputy Commissioner T.R.Ravi, Assistant Executive Engineer Kirubakaran, Zonal Health Inspector Chandran, Assistant Engineer Kumar and other Corporation officials were present for the inspection.
