Coimbatore: The Railway Police Department have tightened security with sniffer dogs and bomb experts at the Coimbatore Railway station as Independence day approaches.








Coimbatore: The Railway Police Department have tightened security with sniffer dogs and bomb experts at the Coimbatore Railway station as Independence day approaches.



In an interview to the press the Railway DSP Annadurai said, "Due to the upcoming Independence day, security at the Coimbatore Railway Sub Division has been beefed up. A total of 475 personnel have been deployed for security including the Railway police, RPF and the City Police department. Sniffer dogs and bomb experts have been deployed for the security of Railway tracks and the Railway station."



He added, "Walking on railway tracks, placing stones on railway tracks and consuming liquor near the tracks are all criminal activities and cases have been filed against people involved in such activities action has been initiated."
