Man kills his son near Coimbatore over property dispute
Coimbatore: A man killed his son near Coimbatore with an axe over property dispute.
Velusamy (65) lives in the vicinity of the Chettipalayam area of Coimbatore. He has two sons and a daughter. His youngest son Sampath Kumar lives near his father's house and daughter Thangamani lives in Kadathur. Eldest son Palanisamy (39) works as an acting driver and lives in Varathaiyankarpalayam near Kovilpalayam.
His wife Priya is a noon meal worker at a school in the same area. The couple has a son Nishant (9) and a daughter Darshini (8).
It is said that Palanisamy was addicted to alcohol and from time to time there was a conflict between him and his father over property. Palanisamy has been accused of asking for property and beating his father in the street while he was drunk.
Likewise, yesterday an inebriated Palanisamy kicked his father Velusamy and spoke inappropriate words. Outraged by this, Velusamy attacked Palanisamy with an axe and killed him on the spot while the latter was sleeping at his home this morning. Annur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. The incident in which a father killed his son has caused a stir in the area.
