Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after being stopped from playing games on mobile phone in Coimbatore.
Raja (37) and Kamatchi (34) along with their 12-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter,l reside in Selvapuram, Coimbatore.
The elder son who is a 7th grade student has allegedly been spending more time in playing games on mobile phones. Enraged by this, his mother confronted him and asked him to stop playing games and concentrate on studies.
Upset by this, the boy went into a roomand hung himself. As the boy did not come out of the room for a longtime, the parents opened the room and were shell-shocked to find the hanging body of their son.
The Selvapuram police who rushed to the spot recovered the boy's body and sent it for autopsy. A case has been registered. The suicide has caused a sense of grief in the area.
Note: As the victim is a minor, names of the parents have been changed.
