Four held for killing labourer

The police have arrested four persons on the charge of beating a migrant labourer to death on Wednesday.

N. Manoj (23), and his friend assumed that a group of labourers from Bihar working at Konavaikalpalayam, near Vellalore, were abusing them in Hindi.

They picked up a quarrel with them on Tuesday evening. They returned with a group of friends but could not find the labourers. They assumed that C. Ramesh Chandra Bhera (24) a decoration worker from Odisha, was one among the persons who quarrelled with them and assaulted him using logs on Wednesday. He died at the CMCH.

The arrested were: Manoj, R. Manikandan (25), P. Krishnamoorthi (29), and R. Hari Krishnan (25).
