Track maintenance works between Coimbatore–Podanur railway stations will affect two passenger services from September 18 to 26. The Shoranur–Coimbatore Passenger will terminate at Podanur, while the Coimbatore–Shoranur Passenger will originate from Podanur during the period.
Coimbatore: Passengers travelling between Coimbatore and Podanur will have to take note of changes to two passenger train services as track maintenance works are being carried out along the section.
With track maintenance and engineering works being undertaken between Coimbatore and Podanur railway stations, the changes will be in effect from September 18 to 26, 2026, according to the Salem Division of Southern Railway.
As part of the arrangements to facilitate the maintenance works, Train No. 56604 Shoranur–Coimbatore Passenger, scheduled to depart Shoranur Junction at 8.20 a.m., will be short-terminated at Podanur Junction from September 18 to 26.
On these dates, the train will operate only between Shoranur Junction and Podanur Junction and will not run on the Podanur–Coimbatore Junction section.
Similarly, Train No. 56603 Coimbatore–Shoranur Passenger, normally scheduled to depart Coimbatore Junction at 4.25 p.m., will instead originate from Podanur Junction at 4.38 p.m. from September 18 to 26.
The train will not operate between Coimbatore Junction and Podanur Junction during this period. From Podanur, it will operate towards Shoranur Junction as scheduled.
