Passengers travelling on the Tiruchchirappalli Junction–Palakkad Town Express will operate only up to Podanur Junction instead of Palakkad Town on September 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 17 .
Coimbatore: Southern Railway has announced temporary changes in the operation of two train services between Tiruchchirappalli Junction and Palakkad Town due to track maintenance engineering works being carried out at the Madukarai Railway Yard.
Train No. 16843, the Tiruchchirappalli Junction–Palakkad Town Express, scheduled to leave Tiruchchirappalli Junction at 1 pm, will be short-terminated at Podanur Junction on September 9, 14 and 16.
On these dates, the train will operate only between Tiruchchirappalli Junction and Podanur Junction and will not run on the Palakkad Town section.
Similarly, Train No. 16844, the Palakkad Town–Tiruchchirappalli Junction Express, scheduled to depart Palakkad Town at 6.30 am, will instead originate from Podanur Junction at 7.55 am on September 10, 15 and 17.
The train will not operate between Palakkad Town and Podanur Junction on these dates and will run from Podanur Junction to Tiruchchirappalli Junction, Southern Railway said.
Passengers travelling between Palakkad and Podanur on the affected dates have been advised to take note of the temporary changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
