Coimbatore: An unidentified man, believed to be aged between 35 and 40, was found murdered inside an unused hollow-block shed on private land at Nandini Nagar in Pappampatti, within the limits of the Sulur police station, on Sunday.
According to the police, the man was found without clothes and had sustained a head injury. On receiving information, the Sulur police rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The crime scene was examined, and forensic and other evidentiary procedures were initiated.
Preliminary enquiries indicated that the death could have occurred more than a day before the body was found, police said.
A tattoo bearing the word “RAMESWAR” was found on the man’s right hand. Police are examining whether the marking could help establish his identity.
Special teams have been formed to identify the deceased, ascertain the circumstances and motive behind the murder, and trace and apprehend those involved in the crime.
