Youth Seriously Injured After Pickup Van Hits Bike on North Coimbatore Flyover

A 21-year-old man from G.M. Nagar in Ukkadam, Coimbatore, was seriously injured after a pickup van allegedly collided with his motorcycle on the North Coimbatore flyover. The West Traffic Investigation Wing police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

A 21-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after a pickup van allegedly collided with his two-wheeler on the North Coimbatore flyover, police said.

The injured man has been identified as Mohammed Nawfal (21), a resident of G.M. Nagar in Ukkadam, Coimbatore. The accident occurred on the afternoon of September 2 when he was riding his motorcycle on the North Coimbatore flyover.

According to the police, Nawfal was proceeding down the flyover towards Saibaba Colony when a pickup vehicle allegedly collided with his motorcycle.

The impact threw him off the two-wheeler, leaving him with fractures to his left shoulder and right leg, besides other injuries. People in the area rescued him and took him to a hospital in Coimbatore, where he is undergoing intensive treatment.

The pickup vehicle was allegedly driven by Franklin Raja (41), a resident of Puthunagar in Avarampalayam.

The West Traffic Investigation Wing police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
