An 18-year-old college student was arrested by Thudiyalur police for allegedly smoking ganja in an open ground near the Vellakinar Housing Board in Coimbatore. He was detained during a police patrol and subsequently booked under Section 27(a) of the NDPS Act.
Coimbatore: An 18-year-old college student was arrested by Thudiyalur police for allegedly smoking ganja at an open ground near the Vellakinar Housing Board area in Coimbatore.
According to police, Thudiyalur Police Station Special Sub-Inspector Murugesan was on patrol near a vacant ground in the area when he noticed a young man allegedly smoking ganja. The officer detained him and questioned him.
The accused was identified as a native of Trichy Main Road in Karur who is currently residing in Muthu Nagar, Thudiyalur.
Police subsequently arrested him under Section 27(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are continuing their investigation.
