The Coimbatore Corporation conducted an awareness programme at the Corporation Middle School in Chinnavedampatti to encourage teachers and students to use alternatives to single-use and throwaway plastic products.
Coimbatore:As part of efforts to encourage a shift away from single-use plastics, students and teachers at Corporation Middle School in Chinnavedampatti were sensitised to the use of sustainable alternatives.
An awareness programme was organised for the students and staff, during which the long-term harmful effects of plastic use were highlighted, with a focus on promoting alternatives to single-use and throwaway plastic products.

The programme was held in Ward 12 of the Corporation’s North Zone, encouraging students and teachers to adopt alternative products and reduce their dependence on single-use plastics.
Health Inspector Jeevamukundaraj, along with Corporation officials, teachers and students, participated in the programme held on August 19.
