Southern Railway will operate special trains between SMVT Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram North on August 20 and 22 to meet increased passenger demand during the Onam festival. The services will halt at Podanur, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur among other stations.
Coimbatore: In view of the increased travel demand during the Onam festival, the Southern Railway will operate special trains between SMVT Bengaluru and Thiruvananthapuram North on August 20 and 22, with a scheduled halt at Podanur in Coimbatore.
Train No. 06569 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Special will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 5.10 p.m. on August 20 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 10 a.m. the following day. On the return journey, Train No. 06570 Thiruvananthapuram North–SMVT Bengaluru Special will depart Thiruvananthapuram North at 12.40 p.m. on August 22 and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 6 a.m. the next day.
The special trains will have AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches. They will operate with scheduled stoppages at Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Kuppam, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam, Karunagappalli, Sasthankotta, Kollam and Varkala.
For passengers travelling from Coimbatore, the Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram special will reach Podanur at 12.58 a.m. on August 21 and depart at 1 a.m. The return service will arrive at Podanur at 8.59 p.m. on August 22 and leave at 9 p.m.
Train No. 06569 SMVT Bengaluru–Thiruvananthapuram North Special will leave SMVT Bengaluru at 5.10 p.m. on August 20 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 10 a.m. the following day.
