Power supply will be disrupted for 8 hours tomorrow (07.08.2026) from 9 AM to 5 PM in seven areas around Arasur sub-station in Coimbatore due to monthly maintenance work. Affected areas include Sellappampalayam, Podhiyampalayam, Vagarayampalayam, Neelambur, Kurumbapalayam, Rasipalayam, and Uoothuppalayam.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced scheduled monthly maintenance work at the Arasur sub-station in Coimbatore district tomorrow (07.08.2026) from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Due to this maintenance work, power supply will be suspended in several areas surrounding the Arasur region for a duration of 8 hours, the electricity board has informed.
Seven areas will be affected by the power disruption including Sellappampalayam, Podhiyampalayam, Vagarayampalayam, Neelambur, Kurumbapalayam, Rasipalayam, and Uoothuppalayam. The power cut will be in effect from 9 AM to 5 PM continuously.
The electricity board has issued advance notification regarding this 8-hour power interruption. If the maintenance work is completed as scheduled, power supply is expected to resume by 5 PM in the evening.
The electricity board has requested residents of the affected areas to complete their essential tasks either in the morning hours or after evening. People have also been advised to safely secure their electrical appliances during the outage.
Residents are further requested to take necessary precautionary measures to protect their appliances from voltage fluctuations that may occur when power supply is restored after the maintenance work is completed.
