Coimbatore Police Track Down Three Absconding Accused Out on Bail

Three accused, including two who had failed to appear before court after securing bail and another who had been absconding since 2018, were arrested by the Coimbatore City Police in separate cases.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police have arrested three accused who had been absconding after failing to comply with court directions in separate criminal cases registered under the Race Course and Kuniyamuthur police station limits.

Rajesh (39), a native of Madurai, was accused in an attempt-to-murder case registered at the Race Course Police Station in 2014. After securing bail, he allegedly failed to appear before the court from August 6, 2025, prompting the court to issue a non-bailable warrant. Acting on the warrant, Race Course Sub-Inspector Ajay Sharma traced and arrested him.

In another case, Vinoth Kumar (36) of Theni district, who is an accused in a theft case, had allegedly been absconding since May 13, 2026, after failing to appear before the court. He was also arrested by the Race Course Police.

In a separate operation, Miraj (38), a native of Kerala, who was accused in a case registered under the Kuniyamuthur Police Station limits, was arrested by Kuniyamuthur Sub-Inspector Thamaraikannan Police said Miraj had been absconding since2018 after obtaining bail and failing to appear before the court.

The arrested accused were produced before the respective courts, and further legal proceedings are under way.
