Coimbatore: The Electricity Board has announced that power supply will be temporarily suspended tomorrow (July 18, 2026) from 9 AM to 5 PM in areas surrounding Sulur sub-station due to scheduled monthly maintenance work.
The maintenance work at the Sulur sub-station will affect power supply in eight areas including Sulur, T.M. Nagar, Ranganathapuram, M.G. Pudur, P.S. Nagar, Kannambalaiyam, Kangeyampalayam, and Ravuthur. Residents in these areas will experience complete power outage throughout the day tomorrow, according to the Electricity Board statement.
The Electricity Board has requested residents in the affected areas to plan their daily activities accordingly and make necessary arrangements for the power disruption. The maintenance work is part of the regular monthly upkeep of the sub-station to ensure reliable power supply in the long term.
Officials have assured that power supply will be restored by 5 PM tomorrow evening once the maintenance work is completed. The Electricity Board has also advised residents to switch off electrical appliances during the power cut to avoid damage when supply is restored.
